Is WeCook available in my area?
With it being a new app, we’re encouraging as many sellers to join as possible. It’s only through your help that we can make WeCook more widely available.
How can I ensure food is safe to eat?
All sellers are required by law to register their food business with their local council. With this comes a mandatory hygiene inspection by an Environmental Health Officer (EHO). This inspection also ensures that sellers are complying with food safety laws. Sellers are given the opportunity to display a verified badge, confirming they’ve registered with their local council. Through the visibility of this badge, customers can make an informed decision whether to purchase from a seller.
How do I join as a food seller?
Once launched, download the app and select ‘Become a cook’. From here, you can setup your online shop. During this process, food safety and compliance will be discussed.
How does WeCook make money?
WeCook charges sellers a 10% commission on the sale of every order. Sellers keep 90% of their revenue from food orders, and 100% of their revenue from their own deliveries (if they choose to deliver their own orders).
WeCook also charges customers a 10% surcharge on all orders at the checkout. Customers can see a full breakdown of the cost before ordering.
These charges help us to operate and improve the app over time.
